Waves are Wednesdays
The above image is, strictly speaking, not a wave photograph at all. If you’re a somewhat astute reader, you just might be wondering
Did I forget what waves are? No. Am I losing my mind? Perhaps. Am I an artiste? 100%, but that’s not important right now. Have I run out of wave photographs?
I’m sharing this image here as a metaphor of sorts, a visual reminder that sometimes, the beauty is not in the wave; rather, it’s what comes because of the wave.
Because of the thousands of gallons of ice-cold Lake Superior storm waves, these REALLY cool ice patterns formed on a rock. And because of the waves (both literal and the metaphorical), I keep making images, sharing words, and shining my light.
Sometimes I’m half as clever by twice, so I’ll plainly state that your support, encouragement, kind words, shares, buying-of-my-artwork…those things are the waves that propel me forward! Last year I stepped out in faith to do something new, and different, and that can be a scary place to be- especially while the world around us devolves into a Darwinistic feeding frenzy with AI overlords looking on, hungry for the scraps. But I believe, like Samwise Gamgee, that there is some good in this world and it’s worth fighting for. One image, one newsletter, one act of kindness at a time. Thank you, friends, for being part of that goodness.
See you around,
Jason
