Waves are Wednesdays
Slight tweak of the format on ‘Waves are Wednesdays’. It will still come out on Wednesdays, and still feature a wave photo, but I’m going to put ‘Waves are Wednesdays’ in the subtitle (instead of that being the main title). I want to differentiate the different editions of ‘Waves are Wednesdays’ when you see the list of my different newsletters.
Now that I have that little housekeeping out of the way- thank you for being here and supporting the journey! Lots of little victories are happening, and I am thankful to be able to share them with you 🙂
Quick update on my ‘Waves are Wednesdays’ weather rant from last week. We…ended up not getting snow on Wednesday. Or Thursday. We got a dusting on Friday night, and then a few inches of snow Sunday night into Monday…but the big storm I was railing about didn’t hit Marquette. It hit areas around us, as many schools east and south of us had snow days- but we didn’t see a single flake in Marquette. Didn’t even rain. What a waste of a perfectly good rant.
Sidebar about my quick update- I want to acknowledge that the ‘If you don’t like the weather in Michigan, wait 5 minutes’ trope is overplayed. A lot of places have wild weather swings. My sister lives in western Kansas, for example, and they have weather swings that make Michigan feel like we brought a dap to a slap fight. In fact last week, on St. Patricks Day their temps were around 80 degrees and just two days later, they were experiencing blizzard conditions that led to highways being closed.
With that in mind, I’d like to propose an amended saying: If you don’t like the weather in Michigan, be thankful you’re not in Kansas. Just kidding Jess!
See you around,
Jason
