Hwhup The Deans List? The Jason Dean here, bringing an end to the Weekend like it was 1987 in Hawkins, Indiana. Which is to say, long overdue and a little disappointing.

Anyways. Let’s get into it.

Westwood Mall Christmas Market

Folks- if you always wanted one more chance to buy my wares live and in living colour in 2025, you are in luck! On Saturday, December 20 from 10-4, I will be at the Westwood Mall in Marquette. It’s the last Saturday before Christmas, so for those of you that like to live on the edge and wait til the last minute for Christmas shopping but are also looking for cool, unique art from an up-and-coming artist to give as gifts, it’s like Christmas came early-but-not-so-early-that-your-last-minute-shopping-is-in-vain.

Oops

After scheduling this newsletter for posting, I realized that last week, I had said I would share a more thorough wrap-up of last weekend’s Christmas Craft Show and then…proceded to, um, not write any sort of wrap-up of last weekend’s Christmas Craft Show. Mea Culpa (not Mea Culpa enough to actually write said wrap-up though)!

Humana Obscura

I am super pumped to announce that I have had multiple photos selected for Issue #15 (Winter) of Humana Obscura! More information to come about this, but I am always humbled to be a part of this wonderful publication and can’t wait to show you what they’ve selected for inclusion 🥰

Favorotos starts next week!

On Monday, December 22, I will be making daily posts of my top ten…sorry, Top Ten Favorite Photos over on Instagram. This is my annual look back at my favorite, not necessarily best, photos I took in the calendar year. I love it because it’s a chance to look back over my body of work and relive some of my bestest moments. Bonus- next week here and here only, Honorable Mention Favorotos!

New Art

Look, I acknowledge that it was cruel for me to drop fall-themed images as my “new” art last week. I understand that we’re shin-deep+ in snow here in Marquette, and other parts of the country aren’t far off from that. You’re probably dreaming of a white Christmas, wearing your kerchief/cap, and most certainly not wanting to be reminded that not all that long ago, it used to be warmer and less wonderlandy.

Totally fair point. Counter- I still have a metric poopton of fall photos through no* fault of my own so,

In the spirit of the season, I am sharing fall photos that could technically have been taken during other seasons. Like this tree for example, which was taken in late August at Little Presque Isle so is technically a Summer photo?

Oops 😬

Uhh, moving on, if you’re wondering what cool, unique New Years resolutions to inevitably fail at next year, you could do a lot worse than ‘Look up more, bro!’.

Finally, the last two are from my October waterfall trip with Myles. Can’t wait to do more of these outings in 2026!

Thanks for joining me today, friends. I want to let you know that this will be the penultimate The Weekender of 2025. I’ll be back next week to close out 2025 in this space, and then spend the rest of the year prepping to have the awesomest 2026 that I possibly can. Looking forward to sharing the vision with you all 😎

See you around,

Jason
