Hwhup The Deans List? The Jason Dean here, bringing an end to the Weekend like it was July. That faint sound you hear? Jingle bells.

Anyways. Let’s get into it.

New Art in my own space

Here’s what I’ve been cooking up in the lab 😎

The first two photos are technically ones that I’ve shared before, but I reworked them as part of a collaborative project that I am working on. I’ll stop talking about that project before I share more than I supposed to…just know that I cannot wait to tell you all about it!!!

Blueberry Fest

My first-ever Blueberry Festival was a smashing success! I sold a few pieces, got to hang out with some wonderful humans who also happen to be wonderful artists, and saw many, many friends who were enjoying themselves at the celebration.

While I think celebrating blueberries is akin to calling Jon Favreau the headliner for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I am 1000% for this celebration and think we should do much more of this kind of thing! There is so much bad in the world right now and I think that more occasions we can find to come together and celebrate in our communities, with excellent live music, tasty food, and beautiful art (even if it is elevating a fruit that is at best a second banana, pun intended), the better off our world would be.

Bayou Art Walk

Last week I received confirmation that I’ve been accepted as a vendor for the fifth annual Art Walk at the Chocolay Bayou Nature Reserve 🙌 This will be my first appearance at this event and I hope to make this an annual staple in my schedule. The Art Walk is put on by the UP Land Conservancy and speaks deeply to my artistic sensibilities. Conserving our natural resources and fighting against the abuses that the rich and powerful want to perpetrate on our land and waters in order to serve their own selfish desires is a core part of who I am. And If I happen to make some sales of and connections through my artwork? That’s what we call ‘The Dream’, friends.

Website relaunch

Folks- I am ex-freaking-CITEd to share that I’m working with Kyle over at Moon Vibes Media to revamp my website 😍😍😍 One thing I’ve wanted for awhile is a website that looks good, has a simple customer interface, and allows me to sell my on-hand physical products through my website. Early returns are OH MY GOSH YES YES YES. Seriously, it looks incredible and I can’t wait to share it with you all!

Waves are Wednesdays Preview

Behold: the wave image I will be sharing this week on social media for #wavesarewednesdays:

Photo taken on June 19, 2026 at Little Presque Isle in Marquette

My artistic journey has walked side-by-side with my journey of self-discovery over the last year. I’m growing into the best version of myself, some days exponentially and some days…well, there’s always tomorrow, right? In any case, growth is the goal and thank you for your part in my growth! There’s a lot of insecurity that comes with venturing out into the new, and I would not be able to do so boldly and brazenly without the huge group of people in my corner. I appreciate you!!!

Welcome to August! There’s a lot happening in this month, both professionally and personally. I am looking forward to seeing how it all shakes out!

See you around,

Jason
