New Art in my own space

Here’s what I’ve been cooking up in the lab 😎

(Note that these are the three secret pieces that debuted at Art on the Rocks yesterday! Stop by Booth 110 to check them out, I’ll be there from 10-4.)

The above photo is the Ore Dock, believe it or not. It’s a slow shutter speed/Intentional Camera Movement photo and when I plugged it into the app I use to see how things look on walls…I fell in love, bro. I currently have four galleries on my website, one of them being a Marquette-specific gallery but I’m really leaning towards adding a separate gallery for Ore Dock shots. It’s easily my favorite man-made subject to photograph in the city and I hate the idea of cutting some of them for an artificial sake of balance with other landmarks.

Like, sorry that you’re not the prettiest girl at the party, Lighthouse 🤷‍♂️

This wave photo was taken back in June at Presque Isle Park on an outing with Richard. At his suggestion, I used a nylon over the lens on this day to provide a unique filter to the photos I took on this day and was really pleased with the results. I am excited to play around more with that technique!

I took this photo back in Portland while wandering the streets waiting for other people to wake up while I was basically at lunchtime EST.

A fair number of my photos from Portland were like this; photos of grass and leaves that I could have taken while in Michigan, or anywhere really that has grass and leaves. And I don’t know what to tell you, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Just don’t expect me to become a travel photographer anytime soon I guess?

(Sorry if I’ve used that bit before; I’m having a sense of déjà vu that I’ve written similar phrasing before but am too tired to check the record).

I’ll be at the antepenultimate Wednesday night summer Farmer’s Market in downtown Marquette. And on Friday, I’ll be hanging out at The Gallery’s booth at the Blueberry Fest most of the day on Friday. I’m excited to have a couple more market dates to close out this month.

This artist journey I’m on is a marathon and not a sprint. And as I look back on the last 9 months, I can’t believe how much distance I’ve covered. Whether you’ve been there from day 1 or 1 day, I really appreciate your support and encouragement. Thank you so much!

All the world’s a stage (Theatre photos)

Earlier this week I was able to photograph the final dress rehearsal for the Superior Shakespeare Co. production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It. I’m still sorting and editing the bulk of them, but here are some photos that have been shared from the production. Congratulations to the cast and crew on a successful run!

Real short one today. Yesterday was a long, fruitful day at Art on the Rocks and I’m looking forward to another successful day today (assuming you’re reading this on July 26, 2026 between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM) but great North Star I’m tired.
