Hwhup The Deans List? The Jason Dean here, bringing an end to the Weekend like Prince Humperdinck got caught slippin’.

Anyways. Let’s get into it.

I’m Excited-Plus to announce that I am an official member of The Gallery! I had a wonderful experience displaying through their Judy Sarosik rotating artist gallery and am happy/happy/happy to join this wonderful collective of artists. Obviously it’s great to have my work for sale in the heart of downtown Marquette throughout the year- but even after just one training shift, it’s quite obvious how inspired I’m going to be spending time in the presence of such incredible works made by talented local artists of multiple disciplines.

This week, I will be there from 2-5 on Wednesday. Stop by, say hi, buy some artwork, feel happy 🙂

New Art in my own space

Here’s what I’ve been cooking up in the lab 😎

I’ll be honest, folks- I’m at the tail end (🤞) of getting over an illness and not feeling particularly verbose as I write this, so I don’t have much to say. Honestly though, what else is there to say about the Lower Harbor Ore Dock that hasn’t already been said? It’s fricking awesome.

This photo was taken this past January (🥶) during one of my excursions through the behemoth.

At its core, art is creating and creating is play. Sure, there are serious aspects of art; you can speak truth to power, move people to tears, and unveil secrets of the universe after all! But all good art has its roots in imagination, and so while editing this photo I took of some trees while walking home during an unseasonably warm mid-April afternoon, I used my imagination to create a photograph that reminds me of sentient paint overtaking a wall.

Back in January (look, I know it’s ridiculous that I’m just now sharing some photos I took in January), I took some photos for a local bread baker. Most of them were regular photos but obviously it’s me and I took a few photos like this because art is creating and creating is play and so, yeah. Blurry photo of freshly baked cinnamon rolls.

Castle 906 Market

One week from today (Sunday, June 14), I’ll be making my season debut at Castle 906 Market. Castle 906 Market is a local farmers market in their 2nd year of operation and is located at 368 E US 41 in Negaunee. This year they’ve opened up weekend spots for craft vendors, which is super cool of them to do. I’ll be hanging out from 10-6. Hope to see you there!

Waves are Wednesdays Preview

Behold: the wave photo I will be sharing on socials this week for Waves are Wednesdays:

Photo was taken on November 13, 2025 at Little Presque Isle

I am so thankful to have some many awesomely wonderful people (like you!) who follow and support what I do. Thank you very much!!!

Summer doesn’t legally start for another two weeks, but it’s announced itself loudly and proudly. And even though I am still sharing photos from January (and lets be honest, I still have unshared things from last November), I am ready to meet it head on.

Let’s. Fricking. Go.

See you around,

Jason
